Sara this is such a lovely self-portrait! It definitely reminds me of your inks, and I likie how this is so blurry and suggestive. I'm not usually one for blurry shots, but you did an amazing job on this! What kind of photography class is this? I expect to see more from this class!
The class I'm taking is a beginning black and white film photo class. It's my first class - so I'm really grateful my teacher is as enthusiastic as he is. I'm having a lot of fun but I have a feeling it'll be my last photography class for a while. Pricey supplies!!!
If you think supplies for photography are expensive than you haven't taken an oil painting class. I almost fainted when the total came up for my beginning supplies! My photography class was comparatively cheap, but I already had two cameras to work with. Although, one I destroyed half way through and had to have repaired. One tip: never stick your finger through anything in the dark, especially the lens curtain! And it's always nice to have an enthusiastic teacher, especially one that likes what you do.
I had terrible luck with having to buy more and more things because they kept breaking [from age!]. How can oil painting be even more expensive??? Where does most of the cost stem from?
cost of paint and paintbrushes. And also all the turpenoid and other odd liquidy things. And canvases. You get my point. I have probably spent well over $400 on this class. Thank goodness I actually have paintings to show for it.
